James Orner

James began serving Village Baptist Church in 2021. He graduated from the University of Southern Indiana (BS, 2013) and Moody Theological Seminary (M.Div. 2018). He is also a Chaplain in the Indiana Army National Guard. James and his wife, Carolynn, have four children: Romulus, Hezekiah, Guinevere and Thucydides.

 ELDERS

Fred Zaugg

Fred is a graduate of Word of Life Bible Institute (Diploma, 1977), Citadel Bible College (Calvary Bible College) (BA, 1984) and Grace Theological Seminary (M. Div., 1988). He served as Pastor of Village Baptist Church 1990-2021. Fred and his wife, Andrea, have three grown children: Nathan, Tim, and Sara.

Dan Hooks

Dan grew up at Village Baptist Church, and has been a valuable asset to this ministry for years. He is currently the Maintenance Manager for St. Mary‘s Hospital. Dan and his wife, Sheri, have three grown children: Josh, Blake, and Anna.

DEACONS

Allan Cox 

Allan is retired from Chicago Transit Authority. He has been part of Village Baptist Church since its beginning, and now devotes his time to actively serve the Lord in the ministries of the Church. Allan and his wife, Faye, have three children: Angela, Amy, and Andrew.  

Josh Hooks

Josh has attended Village Baptist Church all of his life. He is currently a Fleet Engineer for United Airlines. He graduated from LeTourneau (BS, 2017 and MS, 2018). Josh and his wife, Jordan, have a daughter, Eleanor, and a son, Elwood.
